Tony Craig(right), an ex-Shakespearan thespian, is the current
winemaker at Savannah Chanelle in Saratoga.How to Make the Jump from Stage to Cellar: "It's hard to make a living as an actor in the U.S.," Craig says. "On January 7, 1991, I left Hollywood with a packed car and $50 in my pocket and ended up in Los Gatos. There was only one job advertised in the local newspaper, a position in a local winery. Fourteen months later, I was promoted to winemaker." Twelve years later and he is still happy to be making wines that are award winning and just beautiful to drink.
