2009 Pinot Noir, Gunsalus Vineyard

Black and red cherries and a hint of cola nut and vanilla oak spice aromatics are mirrored on the palate. Velvety smooth tannins and deep ruby color create a wonderful structure and mouth-feel that makes you come back for more.

The Gunsalus Vineyard is located in the Green Valley-Sonoma County sub-appellation of the Russian River Valley, west of Sebastopol. It is some-what cooler than the overall portion of the Russina River Valley appellation and is ideal for Pinot Noir and chardonnay. We use the larger designation of the ‘Russian River Appellation’ on the label because of immediate recognition; however, Green Valley is coming into its own, and along with an anticipated name change of ‘Green Valley – Russian River’, you might just start seeing more labels with this outstanding quality appellation on them.  Try this wine with a Herb Crusted Pork Roast with Pan Gravy.
