Public Tour in March 2017 - Expired Event
On the tour you will learn the the one hundred year history of the property and the winemaking process.
The tour begins in the tasting room which is the original barn built in 1912. You will learn the history of the property from the family who started the vineyard back in 1910 to the current owners, Michael & Kellie Ballard. The tour will take you out to the Estate Vineyard which is eight acres of vineyard planted to five varietals; Chardonnay, Cabernet Franc, Pinot Noir, Carignane and Zinfandel. You will also see the Villa Monmartre and learn of the history of the building. Then you will head back down to the cellar and production area finishing back upstairs in the tasting room. You will taste a flight of six wines on the tour with one being from the Estate Vineyard.
After the tour you may also want to take a short walk through our redwood grove located behind the winery and down by the stream and canyon. Feel free to bring a picnic lunch and enjoy the afternoon on the Villa patio or lawn. The use of the grounds are firsts come first serve.
