2012 Pinot Noir - Santa Cruz Mountains, Ballard Family Reserve

12Ballard

VINEYARD NOTES:  This wine is a blend of several vineyards: 11.1% Estate Vineyard, which offers lush black cherry fruit, 33.3% Regan – red cherry and earth notes, 11.1% Coast Grade – Floral complexity, 11.1% Tondre’ from the Santa Lucia Highlands to add an extra layer offruity complexity, and 33.3% from the Muns vineyard, the main contributor of the flinty minerality notes this wine offers up.

TASTING NOTES:  Loaded with complex arrays of black cherry and red cherry fruit, well integrated spicey oak with hints of vanilla and cinnamon.  The palate is bold with balanced acidity and tannin which creates a wonderful velvety arena for all of the floral, fruit and earthy characters to play in.
