Michael and Kellie Ballard purchased the property in 1996, naming it after their two daughters, believing it a living tribute to the wine industry’s family heritage and the best icon for their family winery operation Savannah-Chanelle Vineyards pledges always to bottle wine that honors their family and to bottle wine that you can be proud to share with your own. Savannah-Chanelle produces in the range of eight to ten thousand cases annually, with over 80 percent dedicated to Pinot Noir, the winery's raison d'ętre. Michael Ballard and Winemaker Tony Craig (former head winemaker of David Bruce Winery) have joined forces based on their mutual passion for making Pinot Noir wines. Tony continues to produce our small lot, limited Estate wines as well as our wonderful “Coast View” Syrah made from a small, single vineyard site located high in the Gavilian Mountain range above Monterey, California. Conveniently located only 3.3 miles from the Village of Saratoga, this working winery is close to Silicon Valley but worlds away from the everyday business environment. Tasting is available daily from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Tours for 10 or more people are available for $20 a person, which includes an 18.5 ounce crystal bordeaux wineglass. Appointments need to be made at least 72 hours beforehand. We also participate in the Passport program. When you attend on Passport day with your passport to be stamped, there is no tasting charge.
