2014 Pinot Noir, Rose - Santa Cruz Mountains

Candied red cherries, watermelon and a hint of citrus fruit topped with pretty floral, rose hip aromas describe this 2014 Pinot Noir Rose’.

The fruit and floral notes all follow through on the palate. This is a classically styled Rose’, i.e. no residual sugar, and no ML. This maintains the natural acidity of the wine and its refreshing nature. Perfect as a summertime sipper, or paired with light turkey, chicken and shell fish dishes.

After the pinot noir grapes are loaded into the fermentation tank, a portion of the juice is removed, chilled and fermented entirely in stainless steel to maintain its delicate fruity-floral character. The skins of the grapes are slightly broken due to the process of de-stemming releasing some of the color into the juice. The technical French term is “Saignee”, and translates as “to bleed”.
