Deep, dark, true black cherry fruit is a typical quality of great Burgundies, and this Muns pinot has it copious amounts.
Coupled with the integrated oak characters of nutmeg and vanilla, and the minerality the Santa Cruz Mountains AVA, this vintage will be one to remember. The palate is plush with velvety tannins and balanced acidity and a long, lingering pleasing finish. This 2012 vintage of the Muns Vineyard pinot noir is glorious, and probably the best offering from this site yet. This wine pairs nicely with a Butternut Squash and Mushroom Risotto.
